Argentine Tango

My Tango Story
I discovered argentine tango in 1997 and haven't stop dancing since. Within a year of my first dance lesson I traveled to Buenos Aires to immerse myself in the culture of an age old dance. I've studied with many masters in Argentina, Europe, and the United States. Some of my tango heroes include Luciana Valle, Cecelia Gonzales, Florencia Tacetti, Jose Garafalo, and the women of TangoMujer, an internationally acclaimed all-woman tango dance company.

In addition to learning the follower's role, I studied the role of leader from the very beginning. My style of tango is the perfect blend of masculine and feminine. For me, tango is about balance, energy and connecting to your core. It's intimacy with boundaries.

Portland has one of the best tango communities in North America. It hosts 2 of the largest Tango festivals in the United States. Find out more about Portland Tango Community at PortlandTango.com.
