Thai Massage

A Brief History of Thai Massage
Thai Massage is an ancient body therapy that began more than a 1000 years ago. According to folklore, a hermit and healer emerged from his cave and became the personal assistant to the Buddha. This doctor's name was Jivaka Kumar Bhacca, today known as Dr. Shivago. He created a method of healing the body that has been passed down from generation to generation.

Thai massage has roots in India, China and Thailand. In this healing massage we see influences from acupuncture and yoga. All elements in thai massage help to open and balance the body. These energies of the body travel through pathways called Sen, which have similarities to the Chinese Meridians and India Nadis.

Today, you can still find Traditional Thai Massage throughout Thailand and with more and more westerners traveling to Thailand this ancient body therapy continues to evolve.
